STORM THE BASTILLE

Thank you for joining us for the 25th Annual Storming of the Bastille on July 9, 2009.  This year was our highest attended run in history!  Join us again next year.

WHAT
5K run and 2-mile walk:

Runners and walkers kick off Bastille Days with the annual "Storming of the Bastille," in honor of the 18th century attack on the Bastille prison in Paris. The 5-K run and 2-mile walk will take place on on opening night of the festival. Every year, participants run & walk through the streets of downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward before and after enjoying the festivities of Bastille Days.

WHEN
Thursday night of Bastille Days at 9pm.

WHERE

Start/Finish line at Jefferson and Wells streets. Route winds through Downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward.  See the map below. 

REGISTRATION - Registration is available in person, online and through the mail.  Please check back in early April 2010 for registration information.

RACE T-SHIRT
A commemorative long sleeve T-shirt will be presented to REGISTERED race participants. Make sure to select the correct size, as no exchanges will be permitted. Sizes are subject to availability.

AWARDS
Prizes will be presented to the first three men and women finishers. This is a "fun run." Be sure to check your time as you cross the finish line, as it will not be recorded.

PROHIBITED
For runner and walker safety, animals, skates, strollers and bikes are prohibited.

SECURITY
A police vehicle will pace the race. Uniformed City of Milwaukee Police officers will be on duty at each intersection to ensure safety.
