Storm the Bastille

Run through the streets of Downtown Milwaukee with 4,000 of your closest friends! Runners and walkers kick off Bastille Days with the annual M&I Storm of the Bastille 5K Run/walk, in honor of the 18th century attack on the Bastille prison in Paris. The 5-K run and 2-mile walk will take place on opening night of the festival, July 12th at 9pm. This year's 5K run/walk will begin on North Jefferson Street, adjacent to Cathedral Square Park. The course will lead participants through the scenic streets of downtown Milwaukee & the Historic Third Ward.

Race Day Registration is located at the intersection of Jefferson & Wells and takes place from 11am-8pm.
A commemorative M&I Storm the Bastille long-sleeved T-shirt as well as a race packet with goodies and race number will be provided to all registered runners. Participants should be reminded that the event is a fun run and times will not be officially recorded. After Storming the Bastille, stick around and enjoy Bastille Days' world-class enteretainment offered on four stages throughout the festival grounds.

3) Register in Person- The East Town Association offices (825 N. Jefferson St.) are open daily from 9am-5pm. Stop down anytime and register.
Packets will be available for pick-up July 9-11 at the East Town offices, 825 N. Jefferson St. If you would like to have your packet mailed to you, there is an additional $8 charge for shipping and deadline for shipping is June 25th. Please see application for details.

BASTILLE DAYS FACTS
Bastille Days celebrates its 31st anniversary in 2012.
The first Bastille Days took place July 17 & 18 in 1982.
The first Bastille Days was located on Jefferson Street directly in front of George Watts & Son.
The Storm the Bastille started in 1985.
Today Bastille Days has four stages and occupies eight city blocks.
Average participation in the Storm the Bastille is now over 5,000.
