AUGUST 18 ~ WALTER, ROBERTS & DEITCH

This Soul-Jazz super group consists of:

Robert Walter, Organ (Greyboy All-Stars) Soul jazz organist Robert Walter built a reputation as one of America’s heaviest jazz-funk crossover musicians. He earned international acclaim for his work with The Greyboy Allstars, who were credited with bringing the 60s/70s soul jazz sound to a modern jam band audience. Robert Walter toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe for the past 15 years with the Greyboy Allstars and his own ensembles: 20th Congress, Robert Walter Trio, Super Heavy Organ. He performs with The Headhunters, Fantastic 4, Mike Clark, Stanton Moore, Steve Kimock, Johnny Vidacovich, George Porter, Fred Wesley, Skerik, James Singleton, Tim Green and others.

Eddie Roberts, Guitar (The New Mastersounds) Eddie started his music career proper in 1989 aged 18, having left his Welsh homeland to study Jazz at Leeds College of Music. In 2007 Eddie paid his first visit to New Orleans, with The New Mastersounds. The band played three shows over the first weekend of Jazzfest, but while the others went home, Eddie stayed on for an extra week and found himself guesting with a host of jazz and funk artists at late-night shows around the city including Galactic, Papa Mali, Johnny Vidocavitch, Idris Muhammed, The Greyboy Allstars. Later that summer Eddie joined Stanton Moore's trio for a festival gig, alongside keyboard wizard Robert Walter.
