The annual Milwaukee Firkin Craft Beer Festival (http://milwaukeefirkin.com/) returns to downtown on July 23rd. Located at Cathedral Square Park, in the heart of Downtown Milwaukee, Firkin Fest is Milwaukee’s preeminent beer tasting event. Firkin Fest offers over 70 craft beers to sample from Milwaukee breweries as well as guest beers from around the country. New this year is a Cask Tasting Tent, featuring 15+ all cask conditioned barrels, or firkins, where you’ll have the chance to taste beer as it was produced 100 years ago. Also, enjoy live music from some of Milwaukee’s finest musicians.
Tickets for Firkin Fest are $40 and include unlimited sampling and a commemorative pint glass. VIP tickets are $65 and include early entry at 2pm, food in the VIP area, a complimentary T-shirt, and an opportunity to hob-nob with some of the brewers.
This years’ expanded event includes a cask beer tent, breweriana (brewing collectibles), historians, home brew all-stars, beer museums, beer artists, beer authors and more. Its a celebration of Milwaukee brewing, past, present and future.
Everyone in attendance can vote on the Big Firkin Award that will be given to the best Milwaukee craft beer. Upon entry, event attendees will receive a BIG FIRKIN ballot to select their favorite Milwaukee craft beer.

The East Town Association was officially incorporated in 1983, although it began in the early 1960’s.
The first Bastille Days took place July 17 & 18 in 1982 and we celebrate the 30th anniversary in 2011.
East Town Market celebrates 15 years in 2011 and over 80 vendors participate annually.
Jazz in the Park started in 1991, 21 years later we have over 8,000 weekly attendees.
The Storm the Bastille started in 1985. Today, over 5000 runners and walkers participate.
November through May, check out the East Town Market at Discovery World on the 2nd Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
The first Bastille Days was located on Jefferson Street directly in front of George Watts & Son, today Bastille Days has four stages and occupies eight city blocks.
