East Town Association Welcomes Members Back with First Event Since 2019

Refreshed membership program launches alongside inaugural fundraising campaign

MILWAUKEE (April 1, 2024) – East Town Association, a member and community supported nonprofit organization based in Downtown Milwaukee, announces the launch of its refreshed membership program, marking a pivotal moment in its commitment to community engagement. On April 7, 2024, East Town Association will host its first open member event since 2019 at Taylor’s Milwaukee from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The event allows an opportunity for attendees to engage with community members and discover the benefits of membership. Individuals and businesses can sign up to become a member today at easttown.com/membership. Individual memberships start at $10/month or $100/year, and business memberships start at as little as $250/year. The April 7 event is free, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP at elevateeasttown.rsvpify.com.

“We’re thrilled to reintroduce our membership program and further connect with our community,” said Eddie Sturkey, executive director of East Town Association. “As we navigate the evolving landscape of Downtown Milwaukee, these initiatives reinforce our commitment to community engagement and growth in East Town.”

The launch of East Town’s refreshed membership program coincides with the unveiling of its inaugural fundraising campaign, “Elevate East Town.” Through this campaign, East Town Association aims to offset increasing production costs and sustain the ability to produce free community events that help support hundreds of local artists and small business owners.

“The launch of this inaugural fundraising campaign is an effort to continue to reboot, rebuild and reimagine the organization and its events for the city,” said Sturkey. “East Town was decimated by the 2020 pandemic and continues to rebuild through a time of increasing costs and challenges due to inflation.”

The campaign sets a goal of $100,000 to support the organization’s mission and initiatives.
